In our efforts to provide patients with comfortable, world class orthodontic treatment, Dr. David Alpan offers accelerated orthodontic options designed to shorten treatment time and reduce soreness. Alpan Orthodontics began offering accelerated treatment in 2014, and our patients love finishing sooner with less discomfort along the way. With OrthoPulse or Propel, we are seeing about a 30% reduction in treatment time. Schedule a no-charge exam to explore the options available from your Los Angeles orthodontist.
OrthoPulse Light Therapy
OrthoPulse is our primary acceleration tool. It’s an FDA-cleared device that uses gentle near-infrared light to stimulate the bone around your teeth, helping them move more efficiently. You use it at home for just 10 minutes a day, and it’s completely painless.
Beyond speed, many patients notice a real difference in comfort. The light helps calm soreness after aligner changes or braces adjustments, and Invisalign patients are often able to switch to their next aligner sooner. OrthoPulse works with Invisalign as well as clear, gold, or metal braces, and it’s suitable for children, teens, and adults.
Alveocentesis With the Propel® System
For teeth that need an extra push, Dr. Alpan also offers the PROPEL® system. This in-office procedure, called Alveocentesis, gently stimulates the alveolar (jaw) bone right next to the teeth being moved. That stimulation helps the bone remodel more efficiently and can reduce treatment time by up to 30%. Unlike OrthoPulse, Alveocentesis is performed by Dr. Alpan during your regular visits. It takes only a few minutes and causes little to no discomfort. Propel can be used alongside any orthodontic treatment, including Invisalign and braces, and pairs well with OrthoPulse.
A Doctor Who Helped Shape Accelerated Orthodontics
Dr. Alpan has used accelerated treatment for over a decade, lectured for the companies that developed it, and published multiple articles on it for other orthodontists, including A Review of Accelerated Orthodontics in Orthodontic Practice US. Your accelerated plan is built by a doctor who knows exactly when it helps and how to get the most out of it.
